Revitalizing the 4th Primary School Garden: Community Support in Action

The garden at the 4th Primary School of Polichni is undergoing an exciting transformation. On the morning of Saturday, 15 February 2026, a group of dedicated volunteers gathered to breathe new life into this outdoor space. This effort brings together the support of ESAI EN ROI, members of the Urban Planning Committee, and the Parents' Association of the school. Their collaboration shows how strong community alliances can create meaningful change.

A Garden in Need of Care

For some time, the school garden had been underused and neglected. Overgrown plants and worn-out benches made it less inviting for students and teachers. The garden, once a place for learning and relaxation, needed attention to restore its purpose. Recognizing this, the school community sought help from local organizations and committees to plan a revitalization project.

The Power of Community Alliances

The success of this project lies in the strong partnerships formed between different groups. ESAI EN ROI provided expertise and resources for sustainable gardening practices. Several members of the Urban Planning Committee contributed their knowledge of landscape design and local regulations. Meanwhile, the Parents' Association organized volunteers and fundraising efforts.

This collaboration allowed the project to move forward smoothly. Each group brought unique skills and energy, showing that good alliances can achieve more than isolated efforts. The shared goal of creating a welcoming, green space for children united everyone involved.

What Happened on the Day

On Saturday morning, the garden buzzed with activity. Volunteers cleared debris, pruned plants, and planted new flowers and shrubs. They also repaired benches and painted fences to brighten the area. Children from the school joined in, learning about plants and teamwork as they helped.

The Urban Planning Committee members guided the layout, ensuring the garden would be both beautiful and functional. ESAI EN ROI experts introduced eco-friendly gardening techniques, such as composting and water conservation. Parents coordinated snacks and breaks, keeping spirits high throughout the morning.

Benefits for Students and the Community

Revitalizing the garden offers more than just aesthetic improvements. It creates a safe outdoor classroom where students can connect with nature and learn about the environment firsthand. The garden also provides a peaceful spot for relaxation during breaks, promoting mental well-being.

The project strengthens community ties by involving parents, local officials, and organizations in a shared mission. It encourages ongoing care and responsibility for the space, ensuring its sustainability. This garden will serve as a model for other schools looking to improve their outdoor areas through community support.
