Shadow Friday – A Moment of Silence and Solidarity

Today, our hearts are heavy.

We share our deepest sorrow for the tragic road traffic accident (27/10/2026, Romania, mini-bus) that took seven human lives and left others seriously injured. No words are enough in moments like this. Our thoughts are with the families, friends, and communities who are grieving, as well as with those who continue to fight for life.

In respect for the victims and during the period of mourning declared by the Municipality of Thessaloniki, the Green Friday action scheduled at Villa Mordoch is postponed. What was meant to be a celebration of care, coexistence, and responsibility now pauses — not in absence, but in remembrance.

This Friday turns into Shadow Friday.

A shadow is not darkness; it is the sign that something precious stood in the light. As volunteers, citizens, and human beings, we stand together in silence, empathy, and solidarity. Life, safety, and dignity come before every action.

When we return, we will do so with greater awareness, deeper compassion, and renewed commitment to protecting life — human and non-human alike.
