Pawsitive Parks: Stray and Companion Animals — A Shared Responsibility

ESAI EN ROI – Cultural Organization of Macedonia & Thrace presents Pawsitive Parks, an open awareness-raising initiative dedicated to the protection of stray and companion animals, developed within the framework of the monthly Green Fridays gatherings, held every last Friday of the month.

The initiative aims to promote responsible citizenship, empathy, and practical knowledge related to animal care, coexistence, and protection in urban environments.

The first Green Friday of 2026 is an initiative of the E-Community of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, implemented in cooperation with local associations, including ESAI EN ROI.

The event features:

• Thematic flyers with practical tips and guidance on animal protection

• Free calendars featuring stray cats of Thessaloniki, awarded through lucky tokens

• A live musical opening with ecological and social themes

• Playful and interactive activities focused on environmental and animal welfare awareness

• A short seminar on first aid and basic life-saving skills

• An information corner with materials from local shops, associations, and local initiatives

Pawsitive Parks is part of ESAI EN ROI’s broader mission to support sustainability, care for public space, and respectful coexistence between humans and animals.
